Where to get live specimens of rats/mice for open science project? Can you simply buy them in zoological shop? Or they need to be specially approved for that?

I don't believe this question is best placed in the Open Science SE as it is not directly related to open science, but is instead a general question about obtaining specimens for scientific research. This question would be better asked on the Biology SE.

I agree with Neil. For me, open science is about conducting science openly, not performing scientific procedures without the appropriate training or knowledge.
